PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!! THE EMERGENCY REHABILITATION/MAINTENANCE OF THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE IN LAGOS STATE

The Federal Ministry of Works will partially close the Third Mainland Bridge for maintenance from Friday July 24, 2020 to Sunday January 24, 2021.

The rehabilitation work will be divided into two phases of three months on each carriage ways.

Consequently, the Oworonshoki bound lane will be closed to traffic for the first three months of the partial closure with alternative routes provided.

The Lagos Island bound carriageway will bear the traffic alongside designated alternative routes.

From 12:00 midnight to 1:00pm, the bridge will take the Oworonshoki into Lagos Island traffic only on the Lagos Island bound carriageway.

Also from 1:00pm to 12:00 midnight, the bridge will take the Lagos Island to Oworonshoki traffic only on the Lagos Island bound carriageway.

The same process will be replicated on the Lagos Island bound carriageway upon completion of repairs of the Oworonshoki bound lane.

Motorists are advised to ply alternative routes from Carter bridge to Iddo through Oyingbo to join Adekunle ramp inward Oworonshoki. Also from Ijora Olopa through Western Avenue to Ikorodu Road.

We regret the inconveniences this might cause and assure that traffic control will be in place to direct and help traffic movements. We urge motorists to be patient and show understanding as we work to give you a safer and better bridge.
