NSCDC BOSS SUES FOR PEACEFUL EASTER CELEBRATION

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, sues for peaceful Easter celebration across the nation and called on Christians to pray for the peace of the Nation and for God’s divine intervention on the plaque that bedevilled the world.

While felicitating with the Christian faithful on the Easter celebration, he urged them to live exemplary life as preached by Christ, who sacrifice himself for the sins and redemption of all and sundry noting that Easter period comes with fasting, praying and admonishing for the atonement of sin, reconciliation, tolerance and making peace with one another. Therefore, Easter festivity should not be seen as a time of merriment and fun fare alone but should be seen as a time of tolerating one another irrespective of the religious differences.

Gana posited that religious leader should use this festive period to further enlighten their followers through their various social media platform on the reality of COVID-19 and the benefit derived from observing the ’’seat at home’’ order by the Federal and State Government to curtail the spread of the pandemic across the nation

In addition to the deployment of 10,000 personnel to enforce the seat at home order, the CG has directed all State Commands to carry out massive deployment of personnel to beef up security across the nation, as well as sniffer dogs, specialised units, such as CBRN, Special Force, Counter Terrorism, Ambulances, Surveillance team to strategic areas, and to ensure the protection of Critical Infrastructure within their localities against vandals and enemies of the nation.

He charged personnel to work in synergy with other sister agencies as the Corps will not tolerate any form of sabotage and crisis between the Corps personnel and other sister agencies over issues that could be avoided.

He advised parents to warn their wards to desist from any act that is inimical to the smooth of the society and to stay at home in line with the Government’s directive as the law is no respecter of anyone. Hence, vandals, illegal oil bunkerers, oil thieves and operatives of illegal Private Guards Company, as well as other non-compliance individuals to Government regulations should desist or relocate to another country as there is no hiding place for them.
