NSCDC BOSS BAGS FELLOWISHIP AWARD OF ISSS, NAPS GRAND PATRON

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu within the week bagged one of the most prestigious Fellowship award of the Institute of Security and Strategic Studies where the investiture and declaration was carried out at the Corps Headquarters, Abuja.

The award was in recognition of his patriotism, doggedness, purposefulness and transforming of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The patron of the Institute, Major. General Audu Garba (rtd) who decorated the Corps Chief Executive said, ‘’having followed up with your giant strides in the protection of critical National Assets and Infrastructure of the Federal Government especially oil and gas, power, telecommunication among others; curbing of insurgency in the North East by deploying 5000 personnel; Ensuring a wider spread of the Corps personnel all over the 774 Local Government Areas in Nigeria; Sanitizing of the Private Guard Security Companies by professionalising the industry and making it a revenue base for the government and above all, the establishment of the Agro Rangers Squad for protection of Agro-Allied investment and provision of physical security for farmers and Herders, singled you out for this prestigious award of the institution.

Gana dedicated the award to God and said to whom much is given, much is expected. Therefore the award will spur him to do more in ensuring that he leaves a lasting legacies behind whenever it is time for him to bow out.

Similarly, the National Association of Polytechnics Student awarded him the Grand Patron of NAPS for delivering valuable and vibrant programmes that will defend the right and interest of ordinary Nigerian students especially the harmonization of the HND and Bachelors degree holders dichotomy.

The NAPS representatives used the opportunity of the award presentation to intimate the CG on their desire to carry out enlightenment programme by educating fellow students on the effects of smoking, Drug Abuse, visitation to states ravaged by flood and the Covid-19 guidelines.

The leader of the NAPS delegate, Comrade Michael Afolabi reiterated that, the CG has earned himself the award of Grand Patron of the Association (NAPS) in recognition of his selfless and patriotic service towards nation building, educational transformative, welfarism of workers, service to humanity, open door policy, effective administrative service, charitable assistance to the less privileged and contribution towards the youths and students emancipation and developmental breakthrough.

Gana appreciated the student body and dedicated the award to the Service, management team and the personnel respectively for they are the reason behind the award, ‘’without the personnel and support from my lieutenants, I will not achieve anything’’ he said.

He encouraged the Association to ensure effective execution of their proposed enlightenment programme against Drug abuse such as intake of codeine, tramadol etc which has become a cankerworm in the society, especially in the northern part where it has become a norm amongst the youth and married women that are supposed to be change agents. Gana said the danger associated with it is more disastrous and it calls for serious concern.

He commended their desire to visit victims of flood and urged them to alert appropriate authority such as ecological fund among others. Gana charged NAPS to always ensure that they stand for the cause of justice and peace.
