Nigeria’s new envoy to Pakistan Maj.-Gen. (rtd) Ashimiyn Olaniyi Urges Nigerians living in Pakistan to be law abiding

NEW NIGERIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER TO PAKISTAN, AMBASSADOR MAJ. GEN.(R) ASHIMIYN ADEBAYO OLANIYI URGED NIGERIANS IN PAKISTAN TO STRICTLY RESPECT THE LAWS OF ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN

Newly appointed Nigerian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Ambassador Major General (Retd.)Ashimiyn Adebayo Olaniyi,Oon,mni has urged all the Nigerian nationals in Pakistan to strictly respect the social, cultural and Islamic laws of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and join hands with Nigeria High Commission Pakistan for promoting the good image of Federal Republic of Nigeria in Pakistan.

Ambassador Major General (Retd.)Ashimiyn Adebayo Olaniyi,Oon,mni said this in a meeting at his residence with Nigerian Community in the Federal Capital of Pakistan the other day.

Nigerian Ambassador said under the leadership of His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari, President of Federal Republic of Nigeria efforts will be made to give a quantum jump to economic and trade relations as well as to translate the goals of Economic Diplomacy and South-South Cooperation with Pakistan.

He said that Pakistan has great potential in Agriculture sector and diplomatic efforts will be made in liaison with Nigerian Business Community in Pakistan to benefit from the Agricultural experiences of Pakistan for the benefit of the Nigerian Agricultural Scientists.

Talking about his Agenda in Pakistan, Ambassador Major General (RetIslamabad (Pakistan) / (Press Release)..)Ashimiyn Adebayo Olaniyi,Oon, said that he will be visiting all the Chambers of Pakistan in Punjab, KPK, Sindh and Baluchistan Provinces including Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and visiting pharmaceutical factories, textile units and tractor factories across Pakistan besides launching feasibility study to promote SME projects between Nigeria and Pakistan.

 

He also appealed to the President of Pakistan, His Excellency Mamnoon Hussain to assist and fast track the establishment of the Nigeria-Pakistan Joint Chambers of Commerce.

He further observed that since the agreement was signed in Abuja during President Mamnoon Hussain median visit to Nigeria in 2014, the Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry is yet to take off as this singular move will hit Pakistan-Nigeria bilateral trade target to US $ 1 Billion in the coming years.

He added that Nigeria-Pakistan defence ties are exemplary which will move from strength to strength with the passage of time.

 

On this occasion, Incumbent President, Yoruba Community of Nigeria in Pakistan (YCNP) Alani Oladele Junaid greeted the newly appointed Nigerian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Ambassador Major General (Retd.)Ashimiyn Adebayo Olaniyi,Oon,mni on behalf of the entire Yoruba Diaspora in Pakistan.

He also assured the New Nigerian Ambassador to Pakistan that Yoruba Community of Nigeria is particularly focusing to bring Pakistani entrepreneurs to Nigerian market for better economic future of both the countries.

 

He also said that YNCP is a non-official, non-governmental, non-religious, non-terrorist, non-profitable and socio-cultural organization established on 22nd August, 2004 with the aim to strengthen and develop bridge of friendship between Pakistan and Nigeria.
