NAN to boost news coverage with drones

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) says it has deployed drones in six major areas of the country for more effective coverage of events and activities.

Speaking at the 2021 annual management retreat of the news agency in Ilorin, the Managing Director of NAN, Buki Ponle, said that the agency is poised to be more relevant to stakeholders, especially subscribers.

According to him the ongoing measures put in place will enhance service delivery, and enable the agency to remain relevant to stakeholders and subscribers.

He said the newly acquired technology for the agency’s multi-media unit will continue to make a marked difference in the
pursuit of positive reporting and solutions journalism.

Mr Ponle called for a higher level of dedication from reporters, adding that some journalists chase only what they can benefit even at the detriment of their lives.

The Managing Director explained that his administration will continue to reward excellence and exceptional hard work as stipulated in the civil service rules and regulations.
