FMITI ORGANIZES TRAINING TO BOOST STAFF CAPACITY

The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment has organized a Two-day Training Workshop to boost the capacity of staff working in the Minister, Minister of State and Permanent Secretary Offices.

The objective was to prepare the staff on their job schedules and to train them on how to perform their duties optimally in line with international best practices.

The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasir Sani Gwarzo mni, disclosed this while recently declaring the training open in Abuja with the theme:  “Intensive Training to Boost the Capacity of the Staff of the Honourable Minister, Honourable Minister of State and Permanent Secretary’’, the theme of the training was apt, considering the current reforms taking place in the Civil Service under the present leadership of the Head of Service of the Federation.

The training was also to boost the confidence of the staff, assist them to give adequate support to their principals and acquaint themselves for effective and efficient service delivery.

He urged the staff to leverage on the outcome of the training to further improve their skills in the performance of conducting government business.

Dr. Gwarzo commended the Ministers for approving the workshop, echoing that similar workshops would be organized in the future to other categories of staff to boost their morale.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Director, Human Resource Management Department (HRM), Mr. Simon Alabi disclosed that the workshop was an initiative of the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasir Sani Gwarzo mni, on his assumption of duty in the Ministry.

Mr. Alabi urged the staff to take good advantage of the workshop and work assiduously to support their principals to deliver on their mandate.
