The Honourable Minister of Interior, Abulrahman B. Dambazau has commissioned the New Ultra-Modern Medical Centre at the Corps National Headquarter, Abuja.

According to the Permanent Secretary Barr. Georgina Ekeoma Ehuriah (MON), who represented the Hon. Minister, the new medical centre will improve the welfare of Corps personnel tremendously as it avails them access to good medical services. She added that the Corps though the youngest of all the security agencies, has made tremendous progress since her establishment.

The Permanent Secretary appreciate the Corps exemplary performance in numerous National assignments and stated that the HMI is particularly happy with the corps for making the Ministry proud in the recent 2019 election. She commended the NSCDC Boss for working in synergy with the Inspector General of Police and other security agencies in ensuring adequate safety and protection of lives and property of Nigerians especially with the present security situation of the country.

The NSCDC Boss, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, in his response, expressed appreciation to the Honourable Minister for his efforts in ensuring that the Corps is moving towards an enviable height.

Gana explained that the NSCDC with the support of the Minister has achieved immensely in carrying out her mandates and have succeeded equally in the area of Disaster Management in collaboration with NEMA for the rescue and evacuation of Disaster victims, demarcation of Disaster prone areas and alerting the public on Disaster prevention and management.

He commends the Federal Government for the support and assistance the Corps is getting towards ensuring effective service delivery to the nation.  Reiterating that his leadership has ensured judicious use of all funds made available to the organisation and this is evident in many on-going Capital Projects of the Corps such as the multi-purpose auditorium equipped with the state of the art facilities and the newly commissioned Ultra-Modern Medical Centre named after Lt. Gen. Abulrahman B. Dambazau (Rtd).

According to Gana the Medical Centre is to further enhance his staff welfare and actualization of its citizen’s focused mandate with regards to disaster prevention and management.  Stating that the Medical Centre is very well equipped to meet the required standard and medical services will not be restricted to staff alone but would be extended to the residents of the community, accident and emergency victims requiring medical attention.
