To further sanitize the FCT, the Department of the Development Control under Abuja Metropolitan Management Council commenced removal of illegal motor Parks within the Federal Capital City (FCC),removal of unapproved fences at Lugbe,Lugbe Extenxion, Kiyami and Aviation village.
The removal of such illegal structures will serve as warning to others who are still planning to build without building approval from the authority. Defaulters were earlier served removal notices by the Department of Development Control before the final operation.
Similarly, the Council’s bulldozers visited the Gudu pedestrian way where different business activities such as the selling of plastic water tankers, Cement and iron rod was bumming thereby blocking the pedestrian way. Some of the defaulters were sanctioned by the Council’s Mobile Court of the sum of Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000.00) each to serve as deterrent to others while some other valuable goods were destroyed.
